Manufacturing Maintenance Technician, 3rd shift (Burlington, VT)

Our client – Rhino Foods – is seeking a talented Manufacturing Maintenance Technician to play a vital role on their team.
The selected candidate will perform and oversee a wide range of equipment maintenance, repair, and trouble shooting required for smooth operation of a food manufacturing facility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

–  Perform a wide range of maintenance, repair work, and troubleshooting to ensure the effective operation of equipment such as conveyors, motors, gearboxes, motor drives, labelers, and similar associated production equipment and to include:
   o  support operation of machinery, mechanical equipment and electrical components;
   o  perform regular preventative and predictive maintenance on production, and facilities equipmento   troubleshoot equipment malfunctions;
   o  repair equipment if feasible or recommend outside servicing or replacement;
   o  offer technical advice/assistance regarding operating problems; and
   o  design or modify pieces of equipment to correct production problems or enhance production equipment capabilities.
–  Ensure prompt and effective repair and preventative maintenance of production equipment.
–  Record and track parts usage and repair/fabrication time using Rhino’s work order and parts system.
–  Other related duties and projects, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS 

–  Minimum of three years experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing manufacturing equipment including mechanical systems and electrical components.  Food industry experience preferred, but not required.
–  High school education, plus four years electrical and mechanical technical training or equivalent combination of training and relevant experience.
–  Demonstrated ability to sustain a 3rd shift position.
–  Proven methodical troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
–  Ability to set and act on priorities and meet deadlines with minimal direction.
–  Ability to provide thorough documentation.  Effective reading, writing and math skills.
–  Ability to work cooperatively with co-workers at all levels in a team-oriented work environment.
–  Physical ability to perform all essential job duties, including heavy or moderate lifting, prolonged standing and walking, considerable bending, stooping and climbing.
